I am more than a porn star

I am more than a porn star

The other day, while asking in a post why there is an extreme fixation about anal sex in porn, someone sent me the text “Back Door Psychology” by David J. Law

Apart from talking about some very interesting psychological aspects of male fixing with sodomize women, it has a claim that made me think “[...] in most porn, the women are portrayed as the fantasy women who are always ready, always hot, always excited, and always willing.”

The porn actress becomes a kind of woman who does not averse to anything. In the collective imagination we are sex goddesses, masters in the art of pleasing and always ready to have sex. We assume that the actress has to agree to everything and everyone, their work is to be always available. And sometimes we forget that…Hello! Hence, under the layers of makeup, there is a person.

A real person, who likes to do certain things and not others. Who enjoying some practices , and others not. I’m more than a porn star, I’m a woman. I could be your neighbor, or the girl you meet on the subway. Your university friend. Or your girlfriend. Or your sister.

An actress is not considered good, or with future until at least she does anal. And if you want to succeed, you must soon go to the side of the DP`s , gangbangs and other practices regarded as “extreme”.

The girls who only shoot lesbian scenes are told that they will have no future in the industry or that people will forget about them. And the models that only make masturbation scenes are automatically into the field of erotic art or soft core, even though they are getting mandolins through their ass.

When you walk in this industry there is a real pressure to do any kind of practice. It’s your third scene? Anyway, let’s do anal. Because if not, you will not succeed. If not, people will forget about you. If not, you will have no job.
And the consumer, the user viewing your scenes is also there, asking you: When your first bukkake? When your first orgy? It is assumed that you like everything. Or worse, they do not care if you like it or not. As an actress, it’s your duty to go up the level of practices that you do in your scenes. If not, you should work in something else.
You’re a fantasy. Always prepared, always hot, always ready for anything. With the difference that is not true.

I guess this collective thinking is the result of many years of male pornography, which presents women as a sexual object rather than as a thinking entity with decision-making . I think it’s time to change our mind.

There are things that I like and things I do not like. There are actors that I like, and others who I do not like. My tastes are evolving, and in constant transformation. Same as yours.

My rule for being in this industry is just to make practices that I really enjoy with people that attracts me and with companies with which I want to work. And so my sexuality and my desire keep growing, not diminish. I am not available for everyone. I’m not always horny and certainly I do not shoot any scene that people propose me. And you know what? I have plenty of work.

Actors and actresses, please only shoot things that you really like, without yielding to pressures or wads of cash. You can succeed doing what you want.

And this answers to all that messages that you send me wondering when will I do my first anal, my first DP, or my first gangbang. The answer is: Exactly when I want.

  1. Although I will admit that there is probably much truth to the idea that men enjoy subjugating women I think that the portrayal of women in porn is also influenced by the males own sexuality. Most men are ready for sex anytime with anyone and are sexually aroused instantly by the sight of a naked female. Female porn actresses are basically portraying women with a male sexual response pattern. Aroused easily and uncontrollable by the mere sight of a an available male. Now to anal sex – most men can enjoy anal stimulation and would do so much more if they weren’t so hung up on being thought to be gay. After all, gay males do enjoy anal sex for the most part. Please excuse all the gross overgeneralizations in this post – I do know that not everyone fits the stereotypes.

    • You are opening a new point of view in all this matter: That most of the pornography we’re used to see it’s done by and for males and it represents the idea of sexuality that men think it’s the ideal. I never thought before about what you are explaining but I absolutely agree with you! Thank you for sharing :)

  2. I really like what you’ve written here. I think it doesn’t just apply to the adult industry, but to me it applies to any industry, any job. It is about the decision to value ones self and ones experience – to choose to be happy in what you do. I think it is the future – not just of porn, but of everything – it has to be! How can we survive as a species if we are not overall happy? It can be challenging to be the one who sticks out and says “well, I don’t care if you’ve chosen to be miserable, I’m choosing to be happy” – and show people another way. It takes a lot of self-confidence and self-belief. I think you are awesome for doing this.

  3. I totally agree with u dear….u should do stuff u feel great about….not things that will just bring u money….even though u working, u are also having fan as well….thanks for the advice cos it applies to all nature of works u find yourself doing…..tius…

  4. I’m not very sure how I arrived to this page, but I read carefully this article and I want to say: Congratulations. You are one of the few people in the world working as you want. Become a porn actress is a difficult step. Sure you’ve had discussions with friends and relatives because of your job but thanks to blogs and articles like this porn proffessionals will be acepted some day. In last century Gays and Lesbians achieved to be respected. Now it’s your turn, people (well, women) who like sex and are proud of their jobs.

  5. this is perhaps the most awesome insight ever.

that an actress would actually “want” to do a porn scene, whatever it may be…

i believe the standard hiring questions revolve around what a woman is comfortable with, before anything is ever shot.

with hiring practices promoting a range of financial remuneration, based on what the producer believes they can afford and or will sell. where the woman falls into that range, will suggest the financial benefit she will gain for her participation.

kink.com is reputed as being Very scrupulous on these issues with attendants out of sight off camera, continually monitoring the sub’s condition, and ready to intercede on her, (or his, i should assume), behalf, should anything go awry.

as to subjugation, my preferences tend to fall along the lines of ava devine, bonny bon and the classic (pre-boob job), kitty yung… overt sexual animals and very aggressive about giving and receiving.

those are my personal tastes, privately and intimately, (who doesn’t enjoy a good challenge!), and on the screen…

ms marna appears to be of the #alphafemale type, creative, sublime and independent.

all, very attractive and stimulating qualities in a female artist, performer or acquaintance.

  6. There is much wisdom in your words. Keep being the awesome person that you are, and never stop chasing your dreams!

  7. I totally admire your efforts to bring personal touch into this industry and encourage folks to consider actresses as persons, not objects. IMO anal, DP, gangbangs should be niche, as they once were, not mainstream. Hopefully more actresses will speak out and things will gradually change. Increased popularity of erotic sites may certainly help for this purpose…
More generally, it’s great that you succeed in doing what you want and are not coerced, but as anywhere in life, only the best performers, like you, have this luxury of choice. Most “average porn Janes” don’t – they have to suffer or quit. That’s why it’s important to keep fighting, telling people who watch porn how much suffering it can bring. I imagine not too many people read blogs like yours, so perhaps a brief interview in some of the scenes about what you write here may be a good idea? That folks would start thinking. I know it’s tough to think while watching porn, but possible :)

    • Hi Randy! It’s a pleasure to read your comment. I absolutely agree with you: gangbangs, bukakes, DP and this hard wave of porn practices should be niche, not mainstream. We have to spread the word of good, ethical porn :)

  8. Essentially, porn can only work by stimulating the observer’s imagination. Observers are always looking for new inspiration, and because producers know that, they’re in permanent search for new actresses and new scenes with the actresses they have and who proved marketable. That’s the business. However, because – in my humble opinion – producers mostly lack imagination beyond the old blow-fuck-anal drill, they ask their actresses for going up levels. At least, that’s the impression I got, because I find most of the stuff on the web, perhaps up to 99%, just a turn-off. No, I don’t like to watch anal, not even blowjobs, not to mention the fake “porn faces” or moan tapes.
The few better clips or pics are those where the actors and actresses show care for each other’s needs and where their faces show real joy with what they’re doing.
That needn’t rule out niche practices entirely–as long as the actress really enjoys it–but would put a limit on them.
So, Amarna, please continue to enjoy what you’re doing, and spread the word of passion and joy!

    • I absolutely agree with you, Willy. In the end porn in repetitive and boring: always the same practices, the same positions, the same crazy histories…the only thing that changes are the actresses and the actors. Bleh -___-
Of course, I’ll keep enjoying my work, that’s for sure :) If I’m in this business is because I truly enjoy to be in front of the cameras.
      Thanks for the comment! <3

  9. love , i’m happy that you do as you wish and don’t give a shit to what people say.
it’s true that men always look to women as them pleasure toy and don’t think of the face and heart behind the mask but if you do think like this why did you came in to this business at all?
of course it’s your choice and i pay my respect to that but you could be great actress or model out of this business.
i will apologize for my silliness and rudeness LoVE

    • Hi Ben! I’m in porn because I’m very exhibicionist, I have a high libido and I’m happy to show my body and mu sexuality in front of the cameras :) Resuming: I’m in this because I like it. If I would have wanted to be a mainstream actress/model then I would have done that. Thanks for the comment <3

  10. Today is international kiss a ginger day!

  11. Porn Stars give much more of themselves to a scene than any actress! Whether you’re doing vag or anal, it can’t always be comfortable to get pounded away at. I know many girls fake orgasms for the audience, but the act is real. In a film, all acts are fake

  12. Very thoughtful and well written. I think performers should just do what they enjoy. Their performances should be an expression of themselves, just like any other artist, performer, or writer. I doubt anyone ever told Bruce Springsteen that he had to learn how to rap or he would become irrelevant. When a performer is genuine that comes through and makes the scene. You don’t need to up the ante with “firsts” or any other gimmicks. If it’s genuine, I’ll watch the same performer do any type of scene over and over again, just like I’d watch any performance of Bruce Springsteen singing “Thunder Road”.

  13. The more you stay away from, anal, dp, gangbang, bukkaki scenes and avoid tattoos, piercings, drugs, etc. the easier you’ll find it to make the transition over
to regular cinema and modelling later on if you choose.
Some porn stars give in as they age and their shoots become fewer, trying to boost their popularity..
Lay the foundation to your future now by doing some regular swimsuit pinup
modelling, cameo appearances movies etc, attend regular film festivals etc. approach those outside porn as well…find people who will help you in your endeavors..

    • Stephen, I’m in porn because I love to be a porn actress. If I would want to be in mainstream modelling (That by the way I did before porn, as you can see in the “portfolio” area of this website) or cinema…I just would be doing that now. I don’t like when people think about my job as a “trampolin” to perform in other things…
My goal for this business is to do what I enjoy and what makes me happy, so if at some point I want to do dp, bukkakes or anal I will do it :) And for sure I’ll have piercings and tattoos in the future!

Anyways thank you for comment and for sharing your opinions :)

  14. Hi Amarna, I really appreciate the way you see life as I already wrote you some time ago. I also agree with the general lines of this post. As far as I understood, you like working as a pornstar, but at the same time you don’t like the way porn business is. So, why don’t you just be an exhibitionist in your private life? Why is it so special to make this your job? I am very curious to read your answer, but do not take it too seriously because I really do not want you quit porn :D
Of course, the simplest answer is “for money”. However, I think that there is something else that you like from your job and that you would have never found in private life.

Thanks in advance for ur answer

    Kisses from Italy :*

    • Hi Vivalavidax!

I’m in porn because I REALLY love porn. I don’t like how the industry works sometimes (As everyone in any other job, I suppose) but in general lines I’m pretty happy with the way in which my career has developed.
I’m very exhibicionist, but the main reason why I’m in porn is just the porn itself…Showing myself in my private life is not the same ;)
      Have a nice day!

      xxx

      • Thanks again for your answer, I really love the way you are in your videos… so natural! The first of your videos I saw is one of fakeagent (or something like that) and I looked like real life sex! :) I think you have really the skills to change (even just a little) the porn industry from inside :)

PS: When your next show on cam4? ahah

  15. Hello, I always enjoy reading your posts. You seem very level headed and well rounded. Your posts are insightful and intelligent as well . Sexy as heck too. Be safe and keep up the good work!!

  16. hi Amarna, I think , that men want to see in porn is often what they are not allowed to do at home.
and the other reason, as you mentioned is that, because most of the porn videos of the industry are made without real feelings and emotions the videos has to show things thats be more and more extreme that the people are not bored.
I can imagine, that that has to be a problem for the actors.
your vids are always with real passion, so I think many people enjoy them and if you, some day enjoy anal or DP it will be ok. do what you like! so I like will it too!

  17. No doubt the porn industry wants more and more, anal, dp, gangbang and everything they do at kink.
Maybe indeed girls who dont go along eventually have no work and will be forgotten.

In all honesty I wouldnt know if you did all those things. The reason you stuck in my mind and will not be forgotten -at least by me- is because you had a happy face and were laughing a lot.
With so many actrices doing anal, maybe the ones who dont will eventually be remembered.

  18. Oddly enough (or perhaps not so oddly), this put in mind in multiple ways a recent episode of This American Life, “Birds & Bees”. In it, there’s a segment (“Some Like it Not (On the Neck)”) about sexual assault and consent workshops at colleges, which are becoming quite common and (wonderfully) popular. The core idea is the practice of consent: checking in and affirming what your partner wants. Your thesis reminded me of that last bit.

The reason the workshop was so popular with (straight?) male students is they desired a good source of information. Other than the workshop, as adults they mostly learned about sex from other men or from porn, which still left them with many questions. That strong tendency in porn created for men to encapsulate male fantasies (another point made both by you and in the story), understandable as it is, meant that the men were missing the crucial aspect: what did their partner actually want? The workshops offered a simple answer: ask the partner. I see that thread in your post.

    • Hi StirlingGin! It makes me super happy that my post reminded you to that affirmations because indeed that’s part of what I wanted to communicate. It’s a big problem when people see you on screen, because they forget that under that objectification of sexuality we’re people. Thank you for your comment <3

  19. i just think you are so cute with the way you speak and gesture, hugable, sweet, lovable and on and on. i could listen to you talk about anything for hours. i hope you get regular acting jobs soon, and modeling too. i think the way you talk is your very best you. ps, i think sadomassakist like bicycles too…your so funny!

    • Thank you for your lovely words, Al :-)
I would like to point out one thing: I am dedicated to pornography because it is exactly the job I want to have. If I would like to work as a “regular actress” or “regular model” I would be already doing it. Have a nice day <3 xxx

  20. You can talk like this because you’re a nice, intelligent and uninhibited girl.
The porn market is in the hands of men who are the main consumers and their demand more and more.
Just see what is becoming the offer. Once it was only vaginal penetration, then we moved on to the anal, then the insertion of objects, then the fetish, then BDSM, now we have sites where the girls are humiliated, beaten, where any object is placed in vagina and behind, The market asks them to push up to show the sphincters, in short, a lot of girls seem to be available to do just about anything, that’s why you girls are being asked more and more.
As with just about any other job in the world many girls think (mistakenly) to achieve fame (to become pornstars) proving willing to do anything.
Not you, in this you are different. But that’s it.

  21. Porn is an industry which has developed a lot recently – as an adolescent it was quite difficult to lay hands on nude photos.
So if I like seeing you Amarna it’s because you are an exibitionist and like to do what you do.

  22. I guess that your article’s intention is to question the business and shots as well.
It became a current debate. When you look at the “newbies” in the industry, they already deal with practices like DP and gangbang in their early career. Sometimes it’s obvious that the girl struggles with it, especially focussing on her outward appearance. You’re right, there has to be more transparancy, a change, underlining that women are no longer objects, “always prepared, always hot, always ready for anything.” It’s an ethical topic the industry has to discuss, because when I “got to know” you while reading your essays, articles in newspapers and interviews, new aspects of porn appeared. These aspects are true passion, expressing yourself besides having sex (so that your fans know more about the real Amarna) and of course porn as a form of art and asthetics. I truly appreciate your work and when it comes to me, young pornstars need rolemodels who are worth to be followed suit.

    • Thank you very much for your comment, Alex. People like you are what make me want to continue in the industry. <3

  23. hi! i live in Thailand. i would like to say “you are so beautiful”. and i like you ^^

  24. Been reading some of your articles for now countless hours….
It’s very interesting to read the thikings of an insider, porn is a very closed industry and due to that, people (me included) tend do have a lot of cliche about it.
So, thank you for sharing it and sweeping my prejudices.

One question, do you play video games ?
